Windowx XP - Antivirus not found

Recently a lot of XP machines are reporting that Anti-virus may not be installed (WSC) although sophos antivirus is installed. All XP are either SP2/SP3.

Talked to a sohpos tech person who redirected me to KB 42213 which is for Vista only.

Re-install of Sohpos is a quick fix however not scalable for a lot of computers.

Enterprise Console is in a Windows 2003 Server (no AD) and we distribute it thorough NDS share.

Any ideas?

thanks

  • Hello sshoaib,

is their status in SEC correct? You have probably checked that the Sophos Anti-Virus status reporter /SAVAdminService.exe) service is running. Recently - did it start at a certain point in time and is the number constantly increasing? Sometime in the (distant) past we decided to ignore WSC and turned it off for the computers under our control (about 20% of all clients). Which SAV version?
