Sophos, WSUS & DHCP

Hi folks,

Quick question for you all, can Sophos, WSUS and DHCP all exist on the same server?  

Normally we'd have separate servers to manage these services but we are short of space and management are putting a huge amount of pressure on us to get desktops migrated into a new domain.  Obviously, we want to have these things in place before we start migrating.  So, can we save building servers and put the above on one server?

    Hi,

    They can and will be ok, there is no conflict between the roles.

    The only issue becomes scale.  I'm sure when you get to a certain number of managed machines that having these other roles becomes a problem.  I would have thought that a couple of thousand machines would be fine with recent hardware.

    Thanks for the response.  It won't be managing many machines so won't have to worry about scaling too much.
