Safeguard: two partitions of encrypted disk?

Hi there, I'd like to ask whether you think / know if it's possible to merge two partitions of one encrypted harddisk to one single partition without decrypting -> encrypting the whole data. We're currently using Safeguard 6.0.0.1.31 and would like to merge the two partitions using some tool in Windows 7. What would happen if you took let's say gparted or similar, boot from CD and rejoin the püartitions there? Does Safeguard recognize the changes? Will it kepp working / booting the system? Regards Alex

  • Hello Alex,

you should have posted this to the SafeGuard forum. Anyway - an "external" tool (i.e. booted from an external source) can't recognize the partitions correctly and even if it could it would definitely ruin the disk. There are tools which do the job running in the OS but I think this too won't work (and even if I'm told it does I'd test it)
