Installation Problem

I'm trying to install Sophos Anti-Virus 9.0 (standalone version). At the end of the installation process I get the following error:

'There was an unexpected problem with the installation of Sophos Endpoint Security and Control. Details: Problem reading value ProductName from key Software\Sophos\AutoUpdate\Products\{E17FE03B-0501-4aaa-BC69-0129D965F311} A Windows API call returned error 2'

It seems that the anti-virus software is installed, but not the Auto Update feature. Could someone please provide me with assistance.

Hi,
I would suggest running Process Monitor when installing AutoUpdate.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx
This might reveal a problem when it attempts to access the key.

Hi ee59,
In addition to the process monitor logging I would check to see what permissions are currently on that key. Please remember to backup the registry before trying any changes.
