Right-click scan not working - Version 9 & folder redirection

Hello, We have some users with Documents, Desktop, Favorites, and Contacts folders redirected to a file server using group policy.  For those users, the "right click" scan appears to do nothing -- there is no feedback or progress display.  The problem occurs also when scanning a file in the "Pictures" folder, or any other item in any non-redirected folder on the computer or on attached USB drives.

  • Adding the affected users to the local administrators group (as a test only) solves the problem but displays UAC prompt before scanning and we don't want everyone to be a local admin.
  • Other users (both domain and local accounts) who are not covered by the group policy do not have this problem when using the same computers as the affected users.

The workstation OS is either Vista or Windows 7, and Sophos is version 9.  All servers are Windows 2008.

The problem appears to be similar to this one which was found in version 7, though in our case it is not limited to items in offline storage folders:

(CR 26129) When scanning offline storage folders using a right-click scan,

with on-access scanning enabled, some threats are not reported to the user.

Does anyone have an idea to help solve this problem?
