Do SID's have any role in AV updating?

We've surely got some duplicate SID's out there and we've also got some updating issues. I don't know if the two are related or even could be related.

I am aware that changing the SID after Sophos is installed will trash the rights for accessing the GUI but this isn't about that.

    I am currently hosting multiple SIDs

    You are talking about CIDs (central installation directories), aren't you - the question was about SIDs (security identifiers) ...
