Do SID's have any role in AV updating?

We've surely got some duplicate SID's out there and we've also got some updating issues. I don't know if the two are related or even could be related.

I am aware that changing the SID after Sophos is installed will trash the rights for accessing the GUI but this isn't about that.

    Hello hha (excuse me for shortening your name),

    duplicate SIDs (which are with the current versions much less of a problem than they used to be) should not be the cause of updating issues. Status in SEC is perhaps not reliable but it should not affect AU on the client.
