Firewall Config File

Greetings All,

I am attempting to deploy Sophos to a 5,000 + community and am wondering how I can automatically import my FW config file to each new installation w/ out going through the manual process described on the Sophos site (below):

Importing

Warning: The following instructions will overwrite all of your current Sophos Client Firewall settings with those from the imported file. Make a backup of your existing configuration before importing the new one.

Importing with Sophos Control Center.

Open Sophos Control Center.
In the menu bar, select Action|Advanced firewall configuration.
In the General tab, select 'Import'.
Browse to your saved configuration and select it.
Click 'Open'.
Ensure that the following are selected:
Load the general configuration
Load the global and application rules
Overwrite
Click 'OK'.

Is the file located in a specific directory that I can simply overwrite w/ a copy from my machine?

I assume these machines are unmanaged by Enterprise Console? They are standalone installs and you wish to pre-configure them with a template set of rules? So in effect you're creating a wrapped up, pre-configured package to give to 5000+ users?

You can always configure a SCF policy in SEC, use ExportConfig.exe to generate a file to place in the CID as per:

This CID could then become the basis for the package which you install using setup.exe (http://www.sophos.com/support/knowledgebase/article/12570.html ) with the right switches.
