Unable to browse internet using wireless

Hello,

At work we currently use Sophos anti-virus and the WS1000 web appliance.  When a laptop is brought off the network, you can connect to a wireless network and browse to the home page, which is the company internet site, but no where else.

I have checked the application control policy in the enterprise console and wireless is not blocked anywhere else I can see. We do use a proxy and the web appliance to restrict access but I dont think anything is set to block wireless. Also, If I log onto a company laptop with the local admin I can browse anywhere.

Using Sophos Enterprise console v3.1.1.2553 and anti-virus v7.6.20 

Is there a setting that might possibly be restricting wireless access or is it something else?

    We do use a proxy and the web appliance to restrict access

    If I understand you correctly then wireless is working. If you say that a local admin can surf the net then I assume that your proxy server is configured for the standard user(s) but not for the admin.  

    browse to the home page, which is the company internet site, but no where else

    You didn't say which error you get. I assume either the proxy can't be reached at all/refuses the connection or it restricts access to your site.
