IDE count in SEC

Hello,

I just came over some discussions in the forum where this link http://www.sophos.com/downloads/ide/

is mentioned. So I am wondering if the count of IDEs 220, for example for version 4.83, has to be always 220.

We have of lot of clients showing up with IDE version 4.83 and the number of IDEs is between 208 - 221.

Regards

Marcus

  • Hello Marcus,

there's a timestamp on the bottom of the IDEs page. I assume this roughly gives the time the updates have been available for download. Right now it's 11:08:27 UTC and my computer has installed the IDE 12:12:12 UTC+1. With 10 minutes interval for both SUM and client updates one can therefore assume that the timestamp on the IDEs page is not earlier than the release.

The number 208 was current until approx. 7 Nov 20:20 UTC  (until then it was 207 since 18:00), and 220 is the number of today, 07:10 UTC.

So connected and updating clients should show the "current" number after the respective intervals (but also note the VDL version).
