Failed to delete file in CID

Not sure if anyone else has run into this issue but it just happen again to me so I wanted to get it documented in this forum.

On my server I recieved and error in the SUM Log and it says:

Deployment to a share failed because of an unexpected error.  Details: Failed to delete file in CID

This only happened to my two shares that are used by my Relays  "worse location"  So none of my clients could get the latest updates.

I fixed this issue by reapplying the security on the above folder shares and made sure to check the box for Replace all child perms.

Any questions let me know.

Thanks,

Jason

  • Hello Jason,

thanks for posting this. Are these shares "remote" shares - i.e. SUM is writing to a share on another machine?
And - I don't think It's Sophos' fault. "repair permissions" is known to be used not only on Wibdows ...

  • QC,

5 of the 7 are on the same machine and even the same location but only 2 of them are failing.  Of course the 2 that all of the systems hit but at least I know of the issue.
