Additional Update Manager Requirements

Can I install an additional update manager on a Windows 2008 R2 (x64) Server? (I'm running Enterprise Console 4.0.0.2362 on a Windows 2003 SP2 (x86) Server.

Hi,

SUM that comes with SEC 4.5 is not supported on the platform (probably becasue it just wasn't tested) but I would suggest upgrading straight to 4.7 as it has a number of minor improvements and bug fixes.

Section 6.6 of:http://www.sophos.com/sophos/docs/eng/instguid/sesc_97_asgeng.pdfhas some info. If you've only a couple it's easy to manually bootstrap them from the share. If you have to install more than 10 for example you can run the msi with switches.
