Disabling the notification bubble

We are going to be rolling out Sophos to approximately 5000 systems soon and during our testing, we find that the notification bubble in the lower right corner will popup when it can't update its signature files. Is there a way to hide this notification? Our users notice every little thing and this will be a change to our current McAfee system. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Hello streeeotch ,

AFAIK you can only completely hide the icon (which is probably not what your users want).

What interval are you using? I don't have the patience to test but IIRC you aren't notified within the first hour - i.e. if your update interval is 10 minutes and one or two updates fail you neither get the bubble nor the white-on-red x. Or does it regularly happen after startup?

  • Thank you for the suggestions. I will have to look at these and see if they will work for our users.
