Update to AV version 9.7.6 VDL 4.70G

Today it appears that a monthly update came out. We are just starting our rollout so I do not know if this is common but after getting todays update, I had about 10 systems (out of 40) that say a restart was needed right after the update. Is this common for a monthly update? What causes Sophos to determine a "restart is needed"?

  • A required restart usually is announced and all clients should report it as it's in the installer package (can't remember any conditional restarts for the base product). The update was not available whenI left work so I'll have to check tomorrow if I see it too.
