Is any one else seing this alert - Shh/Updater-B False positives

Virus/spyware 'Shh/Updater-B' has been detected in "C:\Program Files\Sophos\Sophos Anti-Virus\Web Intelligence\swi_update.exe". Cleanup unavailable. This is trickling in as alerts but at an alarming rate.

  • At least it's a false positive instead of a real virus.

At least it's an extremely rare occurance.

I'd rather have AV that freaksout once in awhile, than an AV that doesn't work and lets real virus's through.... don't be so quick to throw them under the bus.

    1. Disable desktop messaging (edit AV policy > Messaging > disable desktop messaging)

    2. Add ALsvc.exe to the realtime exclusion list

    3. Wait for the fix.
