need to do a restore

Our install of EM4.7 has got itself in a bit of a mess, so I need to do a restore, what is the best way to go about this?

We're running EM console, manager and NAC on one server with the EM and NAC databases stored on our SQL server.  The server is a Hyper-V based w2k8sp2 box so I can mess with it a fair bit without messing stuff up. I can DR recover the whole box from a couple of weeks ago but would prefer just to restore Sophos.  What do I need to restore?

    ok when you click on update you get no change on the console (it doesn't change to updating) or anything, its like you never clicked!  Stuff is being written in the log.  Also if I go to alter the details to the subscription I get a time out trying to connect to sophos, but I can get to d1.sophosupd.com etc from ie on the server, tis strange!
