need to do a restore

Our install of EM4.7 has got itself in a bit of a mess, so I need to do a restore, what is the best way to go about this?

We're running EM console, manager and NAC on one server with the EM and NAC databases stored on our SQL server.  The server is a Hyper-V based w2k8sp2 box so I can mess with it a fair bit without messing stuff up. I can DR recover the whole box from a couple of weeks ago but would prefer just to restore Sophos.  What do I need to restore?

  • Hello kjhoskin ,

question is - what kind of a mess? Excuse me for stating the obvious - but if you didn't back up Sophos specifically (and also know when it last worked) it'd be hard to restore it. Apart from the database there's also some configuration files and the registry which can be messed up. Do I understand correctly that the databases are remote (i.e. on a different server)? If so, then the question is whether the "mess" is in the database or on the SEC/NAC server (or perhaps both).
