Sophos client version on EC server

Hi Everyone

I have a Windows 2000 server running EC v4.0, so not exactly up to date here...

A couple of weeks ago the client on that server, and all my other clients were automatically upgraded by EC from v9.5 to 10.06.  Since then EC server has become very unstable and I have had to reboot it several times.  I am thinking now of downgrading the client on the EC server back to v9.5.

My question is, is it OK for the client on an EC server to be older than the other clients support by the EC?  Is there any kind of link between EC and its client version, or is it irrelevant?

Thanks

  • Hi Christian

Possibly part of the issue is that the v10 client uses more resources than v9, and my w2k servers are not exactly over spec in terms of RAM and CPUs.

However I have now downgraded the client on my EC server to v9.5 and it seems to be happier for now.  Hopefully it will buy me enough time to get a replacement server and console built.

    Thanks for your reply.
