New e-mail messages are not automatically coming through in Outlook Web App (OWA)

I am using Sophos Endpoing Security and Control v9.5 , and I noticed that as soon as I installed the software my web e-mails are not automatically loading in OWA. Normally if I have my OWA mail open and I receive an e-mail it will automatically show up in bold and a little notification will popup. Now with Sophos installed I have to manually click 'check for new messages' every time I want my e-mail to load. 

If I turn off on-access scanning the problems goes away, but then I have lost all scanning protection on my system. Does anybody know what I can manually disable in the advanced settings that will help to resolve this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
