Windows 10

I just upgraded to Windows 10 but Sophos Endpoint was blocking everything and I had to downgrade back to Windows 7 again.
When I got back to Windows 7 all my checksums were gone and no programs worked unless I had ALL TRAFFIC ALLOWED.  When I deselect this I am not asked to ADD programs when I use them so I cannot rebuild the database.

1.    How do I get back to being able to rebuild the Checksum database by using my programs again? And
2.    What is the correct way to upgrade to Windows 10 … safely so that it works?

  • Hello PaulBarrow,

generally it's a good idea to check for applicable articles before upgrading, for example the answer to 2. What is the correct way... is contained in Windows 10 - support for Sophos Endpoint Security and Control (see the SCF section). 1. How do I get back... this should be possible by setting the Working mode (FW config -> tab General -> Primary location Configure... -> tab General) to Interactive (it's no longer available in SCF 3.0 and above for Window 8 and higher).
Exporting the (rebuilt) configuration before upgrading to Windows 10/SCF3.0 will save you some work after the upgrade but don't expect that everything will work as before - there'll be perhaps a lot of changed and new checksums. Please see How to configure Sophos Client Firewall on Windows 8 computers for further information.
