Router Parent address issue

I have been having an issue with the parent address on our new server 2008 r2 install, it reports it as :

10.xx.xx.xx,fe80::8971:2cc1:50d2:d58f,ServerName.d omain.local,ServerName

(note: I've taken the specific details out apart from what I think is an IPv6 address)

on a server 2003 install its 10.xx.xx.xx,,ServerName.d omain.local,ServerName

The 2003 install has no problems but the 2008 does. Any ideas and should it have the other ip address format?
