Ransomware Protection on Sophos Windows Server Protection

Hello Everybody,

On Sophos Windows Server Protection, is Ransomware Protection a different feature Or it's inside on Exploit Prevention feature?

On Sophos Endpoint protection Ransomware Protection is inside Intercept X which is called Crypto Guard. But Ransomware protection may be on different places in Sophos Server Protection!

waiting to become clear about the above confusion.

Thanks in Advance

  • Hello Riyad,

the naming is confusing and more than unfortunate.
At the core of all these products is HitmanPro.Alert. It is an acquired product with many features, among them CryptoGuard and Exploit Prevention (especially unfortunate that the SESC feature is also called Exploit Prevention but the proper Exploit Prevention is not enabled for server OSs), but also Safe Browsing, Keystroke Encryption, Root Cause Analysis, Heartbeat, and perhaps others.

Short answer is: Exploit Prevention for servers is (at the moment) CryptoGuard+Clean.

  • Just to amend Christians answer; we have Heartbeat on Windows and Linux servers in Sophos Central.

    Otherwise, its as stated.
