Sophos Server Protection on SQL and Exchange servers

Would there be any cost to performance if Server Protection were installed on high transaction servers such as SQL and Exchange servers?  If there would be a performance hit, how bad of a hit would it take?

  • Hi Keith,

Our teams do work to ensure that performance impacts on Servers are as small as possible. We also have automatic exclusions for applications such as MS SQL and Exchange; this should again reduce the performance impact.

You do have control in policy to adapt the settings to provide the right mix of protection and performance; but as this can be specific to each environment it would need some testing. The Help section gives information about each option in the Threat Protection policy.

If you would like more details, please PM me and I will do my best to assist you.

    Regards,

    Stephen
