Sophos intercept X "automated malware removal"

Hi, I have a question.

intercept X does not have malware detection.

However, if you look at the second red box, intercept X have automatic malware removal

Does this mean that the malware is Ransomware?

    Hello Sungwoo Kang,

    intercept X does not have malware detection
    this is a misconception. Anti-Malware File Scanning is referring to what Endpoint does: Pre-execution on-access scanning, AKA traditional or classic AV. Intercept X monitors execution, i.e. a processes activity, please see Karl Ackermans post for details. This Intercept X detects all kind of malware, not only ransomware.
    If you now wonder why Runtime Behavior Analysis/HIPS isn't checked in the Intercept X column when it allegedly does exactly this - this is referring to the HIPS feature in Endpoint which has a similar goal but uses a different technology and is not as powerful as Intercept X (guess it's mentioned for completeness).
