I see these stupid non-compliance issues quite often. Usually, I just uninstall and reinstall Sophos (which is a time-consuming task in itself most of the time).
Nevertheless, in this particular instance, I installed Sophos on a machine here at my office. It is running Windows 8.1 Professional. It was installed and updated on August 18. It ran a scheduled scan on August 19. And out of nowhere, it gave me a warning of "Policy non-compliance: Sophos Agent UI." Since then I've been getting the notification "HOSTNAME is out of date."
It still completes scheduled scans, but no matter how many times I try to force it to update, the error "HOSTNAME is out of date" stays.
Additionally, I'm unable to check the "Security Health" under the Status of this machine on the web portal, as it says "The security health cannot be reported at the moment." And I get that awesome bright red exclamation point on the computer's icon in the web portal, that offers no resolution but to irritate me, because I like the green check marks a lot.ui
Any input into this would be greatly appreciated. It's not holding up my work at the time, but it's driving my OCD crazy.
