Currently I'm running Sophos Enterprise Console, managing over 300 Mac endpoints. I apply updated in a controlled test environment well before deploying to all computers. This is important to our business, as a few years ago, a faulty update crashed all Macs in 4 sites. The only way we could get Macs to boot, was to remove Sophos manually on each workstation. Therefore, I was relieved to hear that controlled updates are possible in Sophos Central.
However, on testing this functionality, I discover the 'Controlled Updates' function does not work with Macs. Needless to say, this doesn't instill confidence. I now find it hard to believe updates are even tested on Mac OS before being depoloyed. Therefore, if I move my endpoints to Sophos Central, I'll be at the mercy of your recommended software versions.
Can you explain why, yet again the Mac has been overlooked?
