Username search for peripheral blocking policy

We maintain a peripheral control policy as part of our endpoint protection, which blocks access to MTP/PTP and other removable storage devices. With clients now numbering in the thousands, it has become increasingly cumbersome to add an exemption when a staff member requires access - as far as I can see there is no search facility for peripheral exemptions, so we have to manually scan down the list of detected peripherals to try and spot the correct username.

As this list can be growing by 10-20 names per minute, and the username can be difficult to spot (there is no facility to widen the username field so we often only see the first few letters ("domain\xxx...") ............ it has become a bit of a pain to exempt peripherals. The time filter is of no help.

Are there any plans to make this more user friendly? Surely it can't be that difficult to add a 'search by username' field to a system which must use a database to generate these results anyway?

  • Hi Gary,

A Feature Request has been raised for the requested option. Please click here to vote. In the meantime, you can use the Ctrl+F search which would highlight the entry and makes it much easier than scrolling all the way.

Note: I tried Ctrl+F and it helps.
