Intercept X and Skype

While using Sophos Central Endpoint / Intercept X and Skype (not skype for business). Every time someone wants to start a video call our Skype is crashing. There is no entry in the Sophos Eventlog of a block. Disabling or uninstalling sophos fixes the issue. There is another article that mentions a similar issue with Skype for Business, the only workaround I have found is to create a Exploit Mitigation Exclustion in the Sophos Central system settings. Excluding the application is not ideal as I would prefer to have the application protected.

  • Hi

Please try the following as this workaround does not exclude the application.

    1. Go to Registry Editor (Regedit).
    2. Go to HKCR\WOW6432Node\MediaFoundation\Transforms\00c69f81-0524-48c0-a353-4dd9d54f9a6e\
    3. Change the Value data from to and click Ok.

Let me know if this helps resolve your issue.
