I'm having an issue with installing endpoint protection on a client pc.
win7 pro -
Tamper protection has been disabled via the cloud interface -
I am successful in removing the old installation of endpoint -
New installation apparently goes through successfully, except for error code returned as 146.
Sophos reports this as:

Cause |
The update triggered as the last step of the install sequence failed in some way. |

Force an update of Sophos from the shield icon and check that Sophos is installed on the computer. |
Which I take as the equivalent of "bad command or file name", e.g. useless information other than "it didn't work"
All attempts at updating fail - windows firewall is turned off - no other system on this LAN segment are having issues with sophos updates -
I've ripped/repaved sophos with no success.
