Peripheral Exemptions Notes Field

Hi all, Another quick question.

Under our Sophos Enterprise Console (on-prem) instance, we have a significant number of Peripheral Exemptions added within the console.

1. How have other gone about migrating these into a Sophos Central instance. Were currently thinking of doing a blank slate approach, though this is probably going to upset certain users during the initial migration.

2. Does anyone have an idea of how to manage these Peripheral Exemptions after adding, within the on-prem instance you could add notes to the exception as you added it, so you could track what it was and who had the device. The central instance doesnt seem to have this functionality, so its a little difficult to manage whats been added.

Thx

  • Hello,

We ended up blocking things as they come through Central.

We first listed all the devices we block such as USB, then as we have encrypted USB drives we would allow those under "secure".

Took a little while but as users attempted to use devices, calls would come in, we would either keep it blocked or allow them and force an update to Sophos and they were good to go.

Wasn't an import options from on-prem from my understanding.
