installation error code 124

Mick Curry

Sophos install is failing with code 124.

 

I have not found and coherent answers for this particular error and have gotten to a point of needing to post.

I have scoured the registry and windows for and AV hangovers, not just Sophos and can find nothing.

 

Your help is greatly needed and appreciated.

    Alternatively, you could try searching the registry for {2C14E1A2-C4EB-466E-8374-81286D723D3A}.  It appears to be unhappy with that key for some reason.

    Hi Keith,

     

    Many thanks for the reply. I should have elaborated more in my original post.

    I have already chased the issue down using that page. a registry search yields no results although I have deleted a file with that guid.

    I have rebooted, retried the install (failed with the same guid), searched the registry and not found, searched files and not found.

    I'm a bit stumped!

    please search the registry for 2A1E41C2BE4CE66438471882D627D3A3, it's the same GUID in "compressed" format.
