Silent Uninstall on Mac

I've come across the KB explaining how to use the sudo "path to Sophos.app" --remove, but it won't run because tamper protection is turned on. My questions are, can I turn tamper protection off via Terminal, or can I silently run /Library/Sophos Anti-Virus/Remove Sophos Anti-Virus.app from the Terminal even though the GUI asks for the tamper protection password?

Mac Mini running OS X 10.10, if it helps.

Thanks

  • I am actually looking for the same thing.  I want to uninstall without user interaction, but running the following terminal command as root opens a prompt for uninstalling Sophos instead.

    ./Library/Sophos\ Anti-Virus/Remove\ Sophos\ Anti-Virus.app/Contents/MacOS/Remove\ Sophos\ Anti-Virus

Is there a switch or something to run this silently?  Please help.  Thanks!
