MacOS Monterey Sophos endpoint client installation failed

Tried installing Sophos client on my MAC pro with Monterey OS and keeps giving me failed installation error.

I have tried the steps in this article: Sophos Endpoint Mac Installation Failed however still does not install, any further help would be appreciated.

Just to confirm, i have tried moving the installation folder to the home directory as well as other directories.

Have tried going into recovery mode and following the process described on the link provided.

I have also run the Sophos installer directly from the package contents on the Macos folder of the app file.

  • Hi Jaime,

Thanks for reaching out to the Sophos Community Forum.

Do you know if Sophos was installed previously on the affected device?

I suggest running the Sophos Diagnostic Utility on the device. If you can provide the most recent "com.sophos.macendpoint" log, this will help us determine why the installation is failing.

Folder insecurity errors and limited access to Sophos' updating locations may contribute to the issue you're experiencing. The following articles may help to verify this.
    - MacOS Folder Insecurity errors during install
    - Domains and ports to allow

  • Hello,

I'm receiving the same error as Jaime. Tried many things, but nothing seems to help.

Tried to redownload and use the .app from the installation mail, but...same. Tried the script using shell, but gives the same error on CLI.
The windows installation and onboarding process runs great.

    Thanks,

  • If the Windows devices can install without issue, any necessary white-listing on the network should already be done. In this case, gathering an SDU log and opening a support case would be the best course of action.

You can send me a private message with your Case Id and I can also try taking a look to leave some notes behind.

If the issues you're experiencing are related to the "email setup link" package, could you also try downloading the install package directly from Sophos Central to distribute? Let me know if the results are still the same.
