Sophos Endpoint definition update query

Thanks for reaching out to the Sophos Community Forum. 

You can find details on recent product architecture changes in the following article. 
- Sophos Intercept X for Windows: Product architecture changes

The "Sophos File Scanner" is now the main scanning process that will run on your device. Virus definitions are no longer used for on-access scanning, as the antivirus engine is now using primarily an ML decision-making process. 

You can still find some ide files within the numbered directories at the following path, though these are not relied on as heavily. 
- C:\Program Files\Sophos\Sophos Standalone Engine\engine1\data\
