Sophos Central server protection: real time scanning

Hello, we are evaluating sophos as av for our servers: what is not understand is there any real-time scanning for linux?



is that a feature only for windows system? uploading a virus test file (eicar.com) is undetected until a scan; is that how is supposed to work?

    Thanks for reaching out to the Sophos Community. I've moved this post over to a more appropriate forum.

    If you are looking for on-access scanning with your Linux Server protection, I recommend deploying "Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux (Legacy)". You can find this in the "Server Protection > Protect Devices" menu. 

    The current version of Sophos Protection for Linux or SPL, is a plugin based installation. There will be more plugins added as we go forward, but some information on what is currently available is outlined in the following article.

    If you are interested in the MTR solution I recommend deploying SPL as this includes the MTR plugin, where as the Legacy option does not. You can also reach out to our sales team to get more information.
