It seems like you are running the installer with Installer command line parameter. Can you please confirm if that is the case? If so, use the command line options listed in this KBA: https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/127045 as needed.

unfortunately I am not using the  Installer command line parameter. I downloaded the installer normally and I am trying to install it normally, using the Graphical User Interface.

This error is generally seen, when our installer cant gather proper user info  (the user you are logged in with when installing).

Are you logged in to a domain-joined machine with a local user? If so, please make sure you are installing with an AD user.
