De-Duplicated PC

Hello all,

we have this problem: Sophos Central tells me we have a duplicated PC. What does trigger this Message? The User tells me they didn't dupe anything. I don't know how to manage this problem, please help :(

  • This message is when two or more machines protected by Sophos Central Endpoint report in with the same identifying information but different generated endpoint ID tokens (this is something Sophos generates when the installer is run). To prevent spamming of endpoints in Central when things are changed - there is logic to match up endpoints that are the same and remove the duplicates. This should only happen once in a while but if it is constantly happening then the first question is if you use an image to provision your machines and if that image has Sophos Central Endpoint already installed. If it does, you need to make sure it is properly prepared to be a Gold Image for deployment - see this KBA: https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/28591

Hope this helps. If you have any further questions, please let me know.
