What is the difference between Sophos Central Device Encryption and SafeGuard Enterprise Full Disk Encryption? Does having one negate the need for the other?

Hi,

my question is as stated. I understand that SafeGuard Enterprise comes with File encryption as well, but what is the difference between the full disk encryption given by central and the full disk encryption provided by SafeGuard Enterprise?

If I have SafeGuard Enterprise does that mean that I wouldn't need Sophos Central Device Encryption?

  • Hi

Sophos central device encryption provides centrally-managed, full disk encryption using Windows BitLocker and Mac FileVault. We have secure file sharing in Central device encryption. If you want to use File Encryption you'll need to use the on-prem SafeGuard Enterprise. In case if you use Sophos SafeGuard Enterprise File Encryption modules (Data Exchange, File Encryption or Synchronized Encryption) to protect files you can parallelly use Sophos Central Device Encryption on such a client. Please check this document for more information on central device encryption.
