  • Just wanted to chime in and say I was having this same issue, now resolved, and share what worked for me.

All the problem computers were Windows 7 PC's, and they were behind in their updates. All Windows 10 PC's and Windows 7 PC's in my company that were fully updated didn't have the issue.

I first installed SP1 on any computers that didn't already have it, for good measure.

Then, I installed the two Windows updates listed in the article that Master Oogway shared (https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/135504). Specifically Windows KBs 4474419 and 4490628.

After installing SP1, and the two KBs mentioned above, and sometimes an extra restart if Sophos' Endpoint Agent is still saying it needs a restart to complete its update after installing the Windows updates, everything seems back to normal!

I'm still going through the computers that need this done, but so far this seems to have solved my issues on every computer I ran the updates on. Sophos services are online and communicating with Sophos Central as normal.

    Hope that's helpful!
