Migrate Server to Securty VM - Seems not protected??

Hello!

since 2 years it seems we have a bad use of Sophos Central on our environnement, i installed Sophos Endpoint Server "full" version on our VM on Windows server 2016.

I found this guide yesterday : https://docs.sophos.com/esg/Sophos-Virtual-Environments/1-3/central-startup/en-us/sve_central_sg.html and i deployed the Security VM. On many servers i uninstaleld the full version Enpoint to the light version (installed on the public share), i can see the VM in the log ProtectedGVMs.log with ip and name on the Security VM Console but i have 2 questions :

- Now Guest VM isn't visible on the Sophos Central (???), how can i manage it? How can i apply a specific policy to a specific VM?

- In the link describing the installation of the Security VM and Guest VM Agent, it's written that we can verifiy the good  working of the Guest Agent if i look in Security and Maintenance, i normally will see Sophos for Virtual Enronnements is enabled but nothing visible.

This example VM is been market as Portected in the Console Securty VM.

Can you help me?

Thanks

  • Hi

Security VMs will only be visible in the Server protection option of Sophos Central and Guest VMs will be visible in the summary tab of the Security VMs. For more information, please refer to this document.

For the policy, only threat protection policy is applicable for Sophos for Virtual environments. You need to assign the designated threat policy to Security VM and then that will be assigned to the guest VMs. Please refer to this document

  • Thanks for you answer ! Yes i can see they on  the Securty VM options.

For my second question, why haven't see the Sophos in the Security and maintenance option? How can i be sure that's secured?

    Thanks !
