Central Message/Update Relay wont work?

Hello there,

 

i've installed an 2019 Server with Agent/Endpoint and declared this one as the messaging/update relay server for the internal serversubnet (all traffic is blocked via a sophos utm).F
So our intention is to route all traffic relating to central/endpoints going thru one dedicated relay/proxy agent.

Another (test)Server 2019 is added via global relay-options (click on number of computers using relay and added manually).

But the agent on this client-machine wont configure this out and alway trying to do a direct connection (i see "sophos" as the update-source in the details of the machine).

 

So how to route the traffic thru the relay-station correctly?

    Once the message relay has been set up, a device will compare all IP addresses of the Message Relay servers to the device's IP address. However, this can be affected by the following:

    • The device has been manually assigned to a specific Message Relay.
    • If the local Message Relay is unreachable, the next Message Relay will be evaluated and used.
    • If all Message Relays are unreachable, the device will attempt to contact Sophos Central directly.

    Under the update logs on the endpoint, do you see any error? Could you please check on the central dashboard if you can see any devices are communicating via message relay from server protection> Server> devices using relay.
