Encryption only for encrypting files?

You can get the file encryption functionality in Safeguard Enterprise. Sophos Central client is only managing Windows Bitlocker for the drive encryption. Currently, we do not have any update on Sophos central file encryption. However, we have a policy feature of Password protected files for secure sharing in windows. Let me know if any further queries.

For Windows machines, you can enable the option to right-clicking of files and encrypting with Sophos Central Encryption. You can also enable an Outlook add-in that enables users to encrypt email attachments before sharing them.

The feature provided in the CDE 2.0 to encrypt the file with right-click is only for the email attachments to be encrypted when you want to share the file with another person. After encrypting file, you need to provide the password for that attachment as well. This is manual work and not an exact way of file encryption.

File encryption module works differently than this one. File encryption automatically encrypts all the files which are in the targeted folder. This is just to remove confusion on this feature. Please refer to the below screenshot from the document of CDE 2.0.

File encryption is only available in Safeguard Enterprise as Shweta suggested in her reply.
