Sophos Central Server: Volume Shadow Copy backups randomly fail

Hello

I'm seeing server backups fail more and more frequently due to snapshot technology initialization failures and VSS Writer timeouts.

During the troubleshooting I came across this article: Sophos Central Server: Volume Shadow Copy backups randomly fail

community.sophos.com/.../132691

This article describes an issue related to Central Server Core Agent 2.0.2. But it does not detail if it's fixed.

I have a Windows 2019 server Version 1809 that runs Veritas Backup Exec Server Version 20.5 Rev 1188.

I have Sophos Central Intercept X Advanced for Server. Version info:

Sophos Core Agent    2.2.5
Sophos Anti-Virus    10.8.4.227
Sophos AutoUpdate    6.0.457.457
Sophos Clean        3.8.6.1
Sophos Endpoint Defense    2.1.3.37
Sophos Endpoint Firewall    1.1.0.0
Sophos Endpoint UI    1.7.167.0
Sophos File Integrity Monitoring    1.0.1.11
Sophos File Scanner    1.5.15.0
Sophos Health    2.1.0.33
Sophos HitmanPro Alert    3.7.12.466.466
Sophos Machine Learning Engine    1.1.148
Sophos Management Communications System    4.10.423.0
Sophos Network Threat Protection    1.8.1555.0
Sophos Self Help Tool    2.4.3.2
Sophos Standalone Engine    1.2.23
Sophos Threat Detection Engine    3.74.1.3
Sophos Uninstaller    1.8.0.37

So my questions are:

  1. Is anyone else seeing this issue?
  2. Was this issue ever fixed? and if so, in what version of the Central Server Core Agent?

Thank you :-)
