Intercept X and Sophos for Virtual Enviornments

We are currently rolling out our VDI Enviornment and are using Sophos for Virtual Enviornments.  We were looking at possibly adding on Intercept X but when looking around, running these two products alongside each other is not supported.  Is there a roadmap in place for these products to work together soon?  If not, what is the best practice for endpoint protection and Intercept in a VDI enviornment?

  • Hi

Intercept X is an extension to Endpoint Protection. So it can be used on VDI instead of Sophos for Virtual environments(SVE). SVE is designed in such manner which reduces the usage of network bandwidth and other local resource consumption on a virtual machine but Intercept X is not compatible with it and as of now, there is no notification where it will be available in near future.

Please refer to this link which provides you with the details on either Endpoint protection or SVE can be used in VDI environments. Endpoint protection uses resources more comparing to SVE.

Please refer this article for system requirement for Sophos Central endpoint protection. Apart from this, Intercept X requires additional resources which are mentioned in this article.
