sophos central scheduled scanning

i have users reporting that when the sophos central enpoints are doing weekly sheduled scanning, their computers becomes very slow or lag.

is there anything i can do to reduce the scheduled scanning from taking up their resources.

my own computer also seems to slow down when the scanning is ongoing, taking alot of memory resources

    Typically the SAVService runs between 200mb and 300mb depending on how much RAM and what else is going on with the system. Are you running any programs that use large files or do you have a local database program on the machine? Are you seeing this behavior in all the machines during scheduled scanning? As suggested by Daniel, you can check what is configured and lower the priority of scan, see if it helps.
