How to deal with system slowness after installation?

Hi Guys,

We as partners get this complaint from a lot many customers after instaling Central Intercept X advanced. They complain of a general slowness in the PC and in some cases almost 15-20% systems become very slow and sluggish. I refer to this article https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/27213 , but in the end it says to collect logs and send it to Sophos. Is there any way that we can resolve this without involving Sophos TAC. Are there some steps to be followed apart from the ones mentioned in the KB article?

With performance issues it is usually with third party applications hooking processes with Sophos or vise versa, or that the machines don't meet the System Requirements to install Sophos. Isolating the specific component of Sophos that may be the culprit, and trying to come up with different whitelists would usually help. It also helps to know which is spiking - is it CPU or Memory, or hard drive? The KB below is a general process to isolate which Sophos component(s) may be causing the performance issue:

    Sophos Central Endpoint: Basic troubleshooting

If there are certain applications that will slow down when Sophos is installed, possibly adding whitelists for the specific products' recommended AV exclusions would help as well.

Tech Support may need to be involved, but if you have gathered information already from basic troubleshooting, it will save time to help resolve (or escalate) your issue.
