Sophos Central - Computer URL

How are the devices assigned their unique ID's for the sophos central URL? Where is https://cloud.sophos.com/manage/encryption/devices/computers/467632b1-5sdsdef-0426-0b7d-53cdf4dsds39/summary - Where does that string come from? I'm trying to do an encryption reconsiliation and it'd be great if I could add the computer URL to our inventory software instead of searching each time. The export doesn't give you that string either. Thanks!

    When you first install a computer it registers with Central, at this time it gets its identity.

    It is stored here:
    C:\ProgramData\Sophos\Management Communications System\Endpoint\Persist\EndpointIdentity.txt

    So it's generated by Sophos Central.
