Sophos mobile Google play store

Hi team,

I am thinking about using a generic email address to register all my mobile devices with sophos mobile control.

Once I have downloaded the SMC app and other apps I.e office viewer Adobe reader etc I will then through app control remove the ability to use Google playstore and galaxy store.

My question is:

Is there a restriction on the number of devices I can register to a single email address.

I basically want full control over our devices and what gets installed on these and ideally don't want users to be setting up corporate devices with there own personal email accounts.

How will I manage the updating of apps if I am removing the ability to use playstore. The nature if our business requires the phones to be locked down to very specific applications.

Hope this makes sense and you get help/advise.

Thank you.

  • Hi

You can use Android Enterprise to tackle all these issues. With Android Enterprise, you can manage the applications the users can install from Google Playstore and get them updated from Playstore. There is technically no limit as to how many devices you can setup with Android Enterprise using a managed Google Play account. You can follow this link for FAQs on Android Enterprise for Sophos Mobile.
