Peripheral control - disable MacOS front camera?

I was looking into the peripheral control settings in Sophos Central and wasn't able to find any devices which could be the MacBook Pro FaceTime camera. Is it by-design that this is not present in the list of activated/allowed devices or am I missing something there?

My Parallels Windows 10 system on the same machine does give me the FaceTime HD camera back as an recognized device.

Anyone been looking into this a little more?

  • Hello TijsKeijsers,

I'm neither using a Mac nor Central but I guess that MacOS doesn't access the camera via the MTP/PTP protocol and thus the camera is not in one of the categories that can be blocked.
