upgrading to windows 10

i have Windows 7 prof machines that needs to upgrade to windows 10 Prof.

i have already installed sophos central client on the Windows 7 Prof.

after upgrading to Windows 10, the sophos client is not there any more.

when I re-install sphos client again, will it count as 2 as in taking 2 client license.

is un-installing the sophos client before upgrading to windows 10 prof the correct way ??

  • Hi yeowkm,

You can upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 with the Central Endpoint installed provided it has the tamper protection in it during the upgrade. However, I would recommend having it uninstalled and reinstalled after the upgrade.

Having said that, in your scenario please confirm if the Sophos client is removed in the client computer and then remove the associated user & Client machine entry from the central dashboard. After that proceed with a fresh installation and it should consume a single license count.
